Echocardiography for the TOE Fellow

Training in Echocardiography

In this position you will receive comprehensive training in echocardiography.

Intra-operative TOE

The primary purpose of the training you will receive is for intra-operative TOE. To this end you will be extensively trained in TOE assessment by cardiac anaesthetists.

Diagnostic Echocardiography (TTE and TOE)

To fully appreciate the values and limitations of TOE studies, you will receive dedicated training in diagnostic echocardiography.

Training by diagnostic physicians and cardiologists
Dedicated sessions in trans thoracic echocardiography
Extensive initial training in echocardiography.

Procedural TOE

Be involved in the use of TOE for combined diagnostic/interventional cardiological procedures such as:

Combined TOE/Cardioversion lists
TOE in angiography (eg., pacemaker lead extractions)
