Weekend Cover.Weekend day cover is works out at about one day of the weekend every three weeks. Generally most trainees prefer split weekends rather than two days together. This is assumed in the roster, but could easily be changed if required. Weekends are from 0730 - 2200 hours. Until approximately 2030 hours we maintain the capability to run two theatres as required for general, obstetric or cardiac cases. As per all other cover arrangements we have a junior and senior trainee (above third year) on at all times. Daytime work is generally busy - the general principal is that anything non urgent is done in daylight hours to reduce workload on the night teams. |
