Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

During this three month rotation you will be trained in the management of:

General principles of care for the neonate.
Management of the critically ill neonate
- Respiratory therapy for neonates
- Advanced life support for neonates
Management of extreme prematurity.

By the end of this term you will be comfortable in the management of neonates including the critically ill and premature.

This term is one of the few offered in the Sydney area for anaesthesia trainees. As well as developing skills in intensive care, this term provides an excellent basis for anaesthesia of the neonate.
