Operating Suite Times

1. Starting times are :

Morning or all-day lists 0830 hours

Afternoon lists 1300 hours

2. Each session is of 4.0 hours duration. Hence, morning lists must be completed by 1230 hours, afternoon lists by 1700 hours.

3. The interpretation of starting times is that :

3.1 The anaesthetist is in the operating suite, changed and ready to commence induction by 0830 hrs.

3.2 The surgeon is in the operating suite, changed and ready to scrub, by 0830 hours.

3.3 The patient is in the anaesthetic room, identified and ready for induction by 0830 hours.

4. An Emergency Trauma Operating Room and Anaesthetist is provided Monday to Friday from 0730 hours to 1700 hours. This room is for trauma and emergency cases only.

The 0730 start time is at the discretion of the anaesthetist involved in the case.
