ALLOCATED DAY OFF ARRANGEMENTS

1. On the day designated "ADO" the hospital will staff 3 operating rooms according to the following time schedules :

2 Rooms 0830 hours - 1700 hours Emergency/urgent cases

1 Room 0830 hours - 1700 hours Emergency cases only

and thereafter, following the usual after-hours availability of operating theatres.

2. Allocation of staff for the provision of anaesthetic services will be :-

  1. Two consultants will cover these rooms

  2. One consultant will cover obstetrics and acute pain

  3. One consultant to carry the 08460 page

  4. One registrar to carry the 08596 page

  5. One registrar to assist in theatre

3. All residents attached to the Department will take the day off as an ADO.

4. All registrars and senior registrars not on duty will take the ADO as part of their Award. Those on duty will take another day in lieu as an ADO as soon as practicable.
