1. ADMISSION

1.1 Day only patients and peri-operative (day of surgery) are admitted between at 0700 hrs for morning surgery and at 1100 hours for afternoon surgery.

1.2 Other inpatients are admitted the day before surgery unless complicating illness warrants earlier admission.

1.3 Although patients in (1.2) are usually in their beds by 1400 hours, bed shortages may delay their arrival in the wards until 1700 hrs or later.

1.4 Admission histories are the responsibility of Resident Medical Staff.
