4. DENTURES AND OTHER PROSTHESES

4.1 All dentures will be left in place until the patient has been seen by the Anaesthetist in the Operating Suite.

4.2 Anaesthetic nurses will advise as to the presence of dentures and their nature (i.e. partial or full).

4.3 If removed by the Anaesthetist, dentures must be placed in a labelled container which then accompanies the patient to the Recovery Room.

4.4 Other prostheses (e.g. hearing aids) will remain with the patient unless instructed otherwise by the Anaesthetist. On removal in the operating room, any prothesis must be placed in a labelled container on the patient's bed.
